Once a prospering way of life, Mining soon began to lose efficiency when marauders and pirates would plunder miners and their cargo to then trade it all off for credits of their own, usually resulting in breaking the miner(s) in the process. The Corellian Mining Corporation sought out a fix for this problem that needed to be resolved, especially on the frontier worlds of the Outer Rim. Due to walkers themselves being too expensive and hard to maintain, the Corellia Mining Corporation began to manufacture these Iron Crawlers as a cheaper way to provide support for their miners and even explorers.

The vehicle has a small cargo bay which can hold 40 units of encumberance, and a small passenger hold which can seat 8 different people. The armored transport was operated by 4 essential staff, a pilot to move the vessel, a co-pilot and or engineer who would help to keep the transport going as well as aid in piloting. There was also room for one more inside the vehicle’s cockpit, for the forward aimed autoblaster. A heavy laser man-mounted turret sat atop of the armor, as well as a concussion grenade launcher that would swap with the heavy laser turret. The transport drove on wheels within a revolving track. The vehicle was very big, very slow, and was hard to pilot however it was fortified with heavy armor and a scaled down nuclear fission reactor to maintain the vehicle’s power.
